Jonesy was a Crank who came across Newt while in the Crank Palace. Thomas referred to him as "Greasy Hair" in The Death Cure.

Biography[]

The Death Cure[]

Greasy Hair, or Jonesy, confronted Thomas, Minho, Brenda, and Jorge while they were talking to Newt at the Crank Palace. Greasy Hair began the confrontation when he tried to slice up Thomas' face with a glass shard, initiating a fight between the Cranks, with the exception of Newt, and the quartet. Newt threatened to shoot his Launcher if they couldn't stop fighting, and shot Greasy Hair after he kicked a female crank in the rib.

Crank Palace[]

Jonesy mentioned to Newt his name was only what people called him, implying that it was not his real name. There was no hint of what his real name was.

When Thomas' group came to collect Newt, Jonesy stepped in to defend Newt, causing a fight, and being shot by Newt's Launcher.

Jonesy and his friends offered Newt protection and assistance, which Newt accepted when he intended to leave the Crank Palace. Jonesy rounded up a large group of Cranks to help with the task of getting Newt, Keisha, and baby Dante out of the Crank Palace, towards Denver. Jonesy and his friends were heading to Denver to break into the fortified city, while Newt and Keisha were trying to reach Keisha's daughter and brother.

Appearance[]

Jonesy was mentioned in the Crank Palace and The Death Cure Books. He was not a main character, but appeared in multiple chapters of the novella, mainly during the second-half of the book.

In The Death Cure, Thomas noticed that Jonesy's hair was greasy, leading to the nickname he gave him.
