The Maze Runner Wiki

The Griever Hole was an invisible entrance/exit through in which the Gladers escaped the Maze. It was a small hole located beyond the Cliff.

Biography[]

The Maze Runner[]

In The Maze Runner, it was discovered by Thomas and Minho while running through the Maze after they followed a Griever who rolled right off the edge of the Cliff. Inside the Griever Hole were some coffin type objects which the Grievers rested in, and a computer where Teresa punced the code they discovered from solving the Maps. This revealed the exit to the Maze which allowed the Gladers to escape, as well as deactivating the Grievers. It was a small hole that was a few feet square. When the Gladers attempted to escape the Glade, Thomas and the other Gladers jumped through the hole and fought the Grievers. They arrived to a room full of Grievers, one of which Thomas speared, releasing a yellowish goo and killing it.

The Death Cure[]

In The Death Cure, Thomas, Teresa, and some other Gladers/Group B returned to the Maze since the Immunes captured by WICKED were being held inside. As the place was coming down and they ran slowly as they were escaping with the Immunes, some Grievers began to awaken from their coffins. Teresa told Thomas how to deactivate them, but one escaped its coffin before it was deactivated, so a difficult battle ensued, where Teresa was almost suffocated by the Griever's moist skin.
