After Teresa betrayed Thomas and the other Gladers at the Right Arm campout, WCKD helicopters flew in – bombing the camp and setting it alight. Janson watched the fight safely from inside his helicopter. Upon realizing that they had been attacked, and the Right Arm was fighting back. Thomas ran around, trying to find Brenda, but she found him first and took him to hide with her and Jorge. Thomas wanted to know where the others were, and Brenda showed him. The battle came to a brief pause when the majority had been caught and sat down in lines on the ground. Janson called in to his helicopter pilot to take him down. He looked around at the camp and notices that Thomas was gone. Thomas returned and Janson punched him in the stomach before ordering the soldiers to "Get him in line". He called in Chancellor Paige, who arrived on scene in a Berg. Ava Paige gave a small speech on how she is "Not a monster.". Janson then shoots the Right Arm's doctor, Mary, in the stomach after she confronted Ava Paige. Thomas pulled out a type of grenade from his pocket and threatened to blow up everyone should WCKD not stop. Teresa, Ava, and Janson tried to get Thomas to put it down, but Newt, Minho, and Frypan tell him to do it. In the end, he threw it at a group of soldiers. The fight starts up again. Jorge drove in with his truck and hit into a helicopter – forcing the vehicle to fall on its side with its blades still spinning. Near the end of the fight, a WCKD guard threw a stun grenade into the back of an unsuspecting vehicle. Minho was in the vehicle and when the grenade explodes, it stunned him. Thomas tried to run, but Janson backhands him, sending him to the floor, and pointed his gun at him, saying "What a waste". Brenda saved Thomas from Janson by shooting Janson in the shoulder. The guards took him away, and Thomas tried to stop them. However, he was too late, and the Berg departs with Minho, Aris,Sonya, and some others onboard. Janson began staggering back to the Berg while two soldiers drag Minho in front of Thomas.
