It's a great story with wonderful characters. Nevertheless there are some flaws and plot holes - in the books, in the movies, in both. Some things are not logical, make no sense, are highly improbable.
I'd love you all to put up a nice collection of these.
For example: If I was WICKED and wanted to test some immune kids under extreme conditions - still it would be easy to create a lab-situation less expensive and complex. The Maze is huge (and there are two of them), and what's the sense of bringing a new kid every month? And why supply them at all if they wanted to watch them struggle?
I guess the idea of the Maze came first, and then the story was spun around it.
